[30] Design for a chimneypiece for the ante room, 1769, possibly executed
Aspect
Elevation of a chimneypiece with tapering Doric pilaster stiles, ornamented with rosettes set within medallions linked with filigree, and these are surmounted with panels containing thistles. The capitals contain busts, and there is a frieze of fluting interspersed with roundels containing the Order of the Garter insignias, and there is a central panel containing the Bute coat of arms flanked by horse and stag supporters and arabesques
