The piers are ornamented with a band of fret, and giant paterae, and the arch has a frieze of fluting with a central figurative tablet. All this is surmounted by a chimney stack, ornamented with a patera, and with a preliminary design for a surmounting balustrade. The arch is flanked by single-storey, three-bay gatehouse, with the pedimented central bay containing an entrance, and with a tablet ornamented with festoons and rosettes above.
