Purpose

[5] Design for the south front of a house, 1784, unexecuted

Aspect

Elevation of the south front of a two-storey, seven-bay building, with a hipped roof and sunken basement. There is a central pedimented Ionic portico, with steps leading to an entrance with a fan light, and this is articulated by Doric columns. There are full-height windows at the ground-storey level, and half-height windows in the upper register, and there is a string course of fluting and roundels

A Design for Doctor John Turton at Brasted (in the hand of William Adam, underwritten in pencil) / No. 3 and some dimensions given
