[33] Design for a house, c1784, as executed

Aspect

Axial section of a building with a hipped roof and a part-sunken basement. At the basement-storey level there is a room containing wine bins to the south. At the ground-storey level the room to the north has a fireplace, flanked by doorways set within relieving arches. At the first-storey level there is a central passage and a staircase, and this is flanked by rooms with fireplaces. At the attic-storey level, there is a central passage and further rooms. The north front has a stepped Tuscan portico, surmounted by a balustrade. The south front has a stepped Ionic portico, with a wrought iron balustrade
