Purpose

[15] Alternative finished drawing for the north front of a house, c1790, unexecuted

Aspect

Elevation of the north front of a two-storey, seven-bay building as SM Adam volume 42/77, but with minor alterations. The entrance portico is omitted, and substituted with a pedimented Doric pilaster screen. This is set within a relieving arch, and the spandrels are ornamented with winged sphinxes
