Purpose
Preliminary design for a house, c1788, unexecuted (1)
Notes
This design is for an alternative preliminary plan for William Rose, produced by James Wyatt. The accompanying inscription in Robert Adam’s hand would suggest it was produced from memory by William’s cousin, Joseph Rose the younger. It is possible that Joseph Rose approached both architects regarding the commission for Beckenham rectory (see scheme notes).
