Designs for a narrower tower for Holy Trinity Church, Marylebone, London, December 1825 (4)
Notes
This group of drawings shows a narrower tower than previous designs which has Corinthian pilasters as opposed to free-standing columns. Being dated to late 1825 when building was underway, this less ambitious tower may have been the catalyst for the Vestrymen and Commissioners to express their desire for something grander. Soane therefore raised capital from public subscription to change the design seen here to the executed tower as seen in SM 54/4/26.
