Notes
These alternative designs for a dining room ceiling are two of only three known drawings produced by Adam for Henry Drummond’s house at 9 Great George Street. The third is a record drawing for a frieze design (Adam volume 53/53), also intended for the dining room, with a pencil inscription assigning it to the Great George Street property. According to King, Drummond resided in Great George Street until 1772.
