[58] Preliminary design for an ornamental panel, c1775, possibly executed

Aspect

Elevation of an ornamental panel with a central medallion set within an octagonal compartment surrounded by thyrsi. This is surmounted by wreaths and a tubular flower which supports a draped figure. Above this there are arabesques and further tubular flowers which are surmounted by a swan. Below the medallion there are calyx, arabesques, wreaths and a suspended tablet surmounted by putti. The tablet has an apron of swags with a pendent oil lamp
