PENINGTON, Isaac (1616--1679)
The ancient principle of truth; or the light within asserted and held forth, according to true experience, and the faithful testimony of the Scriptures. Also, an appeal to the witness of God in all consciences, which is the more sure word of prophesie, the testimony of the Scriptures without, or the voice and testimony of the light and Spirit of God within in the heart. By one once greatly distressed, but now at length in the tender mercy of the Lord, effectually visited and redeemed, by the light and power of truth, Isaac Pennington.
