Curatorial note

The heraldic device of the triskele or triskeles (three dexter [right] legs conjoined at the hips and flexed in triangle) is at the centre of the coat-of-arms granted to the Isle of Man in the late 13th century. In the complete arms this device appears on a crowned shield with heraldic supporters in the form of birds.
