Design for the chimneypiece for the front parlour, c1770-71; it is not known if this design was executed (1)

The front parlour was at the front on the ground storey of the house.

It is not known if this design was executed as there is no known photographic record of the chimneypiece prior to demolition. However, prior to demolition the chimneypiece from this room was included in an auction of 1936, and is described in the auction catalogue as being to a different design: 'A painted pine chimneypiece with dentil and leaf mouldings, the frieze with paterae and laurel wreaths in low reliefs, scroll shelf trusses'.
