Finished drawing for the great drawing room sofa, July 1774; it is not known if this design was executed (1)

This sofa is not included in The works in architecture of Robert and James Adam, and is not known to have survived, so it is not known if the great drawing room sofa was executed in accordance with Adam's extant design.

According to Harris, this is 'a simplified and less interesting form of the straight-sided sofa designed in the previous year for the Duke of Bolton' (Adam volume 17/80).
