Grey wash is used for the walls, blue wash for items of furniture and doors, a lighter blue wash for the yard between the main building and the warehouses (drawing 7), and terre verte indicates the warehouses belonging to the property. The Stuckey & Co property was an existing 'banking house' of three stories, with five bedrooms and two 46-foot long 'salt warehouses' at the rear. The reason for the wall elevation on drawing 7 is presumably to show the height of the ground floor, as well as the relative position of the iron safe and closet in the 'committee room'. Some inscriptions were added later by George Bailey (1792-1860, pupil then assistant 1806-37, curator 1837-60).
