It is not possible to assign a date range to this drawing as it is included in a volume of record drawings: drawn directly on to the page rather than pasted in. As such this collection of record drawings appears to have been produced as a complete work and may have been compiled some time after the work at Whitehaven Castle.

It is not known if Adam's interior decorative schemes for Whitehaven Castle were executed, and nothing of the eighteenth-century interior survives.
