Alternative designs for a granary and pigeon house, 8 August 1807 (2)

Drawings 37 and 38 are variant designs for a building containing a granary and columbarium. The granary is on the ground level and the pigeon house on the upper storey, with a door at the ground level and an opening between the floors for a ladder to ascend into the first-floor pigeon house. A gap between the storeys is ventilated by louvres, and a louvred cupola provides additional ventilation at the top of the building. The drawings show alternative designs for the elevation and dimensions of the intermediate storey. The first floor is also taller in drawing 38 than drawing 37. The building is raised on piers to discourage vermin.
