Surveys of the house, showing tribune as executed, March 1798 (2)

Three storeys of the house are shown on drawing 144 (the mezzanine floor is not included, as it is only on the east side of the house). The tribune is at the centre of the house, between the entrance hall and drawing room on the ground floor. Drawing 144 shows the ceiling heights of the rooms: the drawing room has a ceiling 18 feet 7½ inches high in the centre of the room. The bedroom ceilings are 12 feet 9 inches high and the attic bedrooms are 10 feet 1 inch tall. The tribune and an adjoining dressing room have lanterns overhead. The lantern over the tribune is crowned with a bell light. A detail of the rooms' architraves is in the corner of the sheet.

Drawing 145 was sent by post to Soane from Tyringham (a stamp for Newport Pagnell, a nearby town, is on the verso). It has the same design as drawing 144.

Drawing 144 resembles drawing 76 in its execution. It is unclear, however, if the drawings are a set.
