Design for a ceiling for the octagonal dressing room, as executed, c1786 (1)

Photographic evidence shows that this ceiling survived until at least 1998. Miele highlights how Adam utilises spines from the timber structural support of the c1765 ceiling in the execution of this design. The rooms to the rear of the house maintain their original height dimensions.
