Designs for the outbuildings and park, 9 March 1801, c. March 1801 (2)

Drawing 117 shows a plan of the new villa, with the edge of the Dance wing also included, the whole in relation to the immediate site. A particular concern is shown for the plumbing and water system.

The relationship of house to park is shown most clearly in drawing 118, which also includes the Dance wing. This plan is thought to be very close to the final arrangement of the landscaped park, although as Virginia Brilliant's TS catalogue notes, the driveway was eventually to approach the house from the north-east rather than from the east, the stables were not executed as shown and the ruins are not yet suggested. The maker of drawing 118 does go into a fair amount of detail, labelling particular plants and the lawn - in the light of this it seems possible that John Haverfield may have been involved with some aspect of this plan.
