Preliminary working drawings: E, 9-28 October 1800 (3)

Although clearly relating to the previous set of drawings, these show a concern with technical aspects rather than the aesthetic appearance of the building except, that is, for the details of ornament. These include a narrow leaf capital, a source for which may be the narrow leaf capital (but with volutes added) found in Dance's drawing room at Pitzhanger Manor. Dance used a 'plain' narrow leaf capital elsewhere, and its origin may lie in the order of the Tower of the Winds though without the original's outer circle of acanthus leaves.
