Working drawing for the roof timbers of the new wing, 29 July 1789

The shallow roof has an M-shaped cross section with a gutter in the middle. The two ridges are on king posts tied together by a hammer beam and bound to the principal tye beams with brace pieces. Pencil alterations to the drawing show a hipped roof abutting the east chimney-pieces.
