Captain Simpson: unexecuted designs for a house, c1787-94 (5)

Captain Simpson is unknown. King has noted that there are no known naval captains from this period, but has suggested one of two army officers: Captain Ambrose Simpson of the 89th Foot, and Captain Noah Simpson of the 31st (or Huntingdonshire) Regiment. He may also have been the Scottish Captain Simpson of the Gibraltar garrison, listed in Ingamells as having been in Rome in 1729.

The drawings are undated, but the design appears to be of the late Adam style. The intended location for the scheme is not known, and it is not thought to have been executed.
