Lampton: unexecutied design for a 'bungalow', 1811 (10)
'Bungalow' is a term that post-dates the drawiings catalogued here but it has been used within the Soane Museum to describe the following design for some time. In fact, above the four rooms of the ground floor there are four attic rooms making this a two-storey house - strictly speaking a bungalow is single storey. There is no provision for a kitchen.
Drawings ([1]-[6]) are iin a folder made from an unrelated drawing. They do not form a complete set and drawing [1] is quite 'distressed'. The design was copied into a volume by one of Soane's pupils which can be taken as a sign of regard.
