Mr Nettleship: designs for a pier glass and two chimneypieces; it is not known if these designs were executed, 1783-84 (5)

1783-84
Mr Nettleship is unknown. Eileen Harris has suggested that the intended location for the mirror inscribed as being for Mr Nettleship (Adam volume 20/256) was Coworth House in Sunningdale, Berkshire. The reason for this attribution is unclear as Coworth was not leased by a Mr Nettleship until after 1811, long after Adam’s designs of 1783-84. Therefore, the intended location for these designs is not known, and moreover, it is not known if the designs were executed.
