Finished drawing for a long stool for the gallery (now the dining room), c1763-66, unexecuted (1)

Adam charged £3 for this design for a long stool for the gallery. This design was not executed, and instead, another suite of seat furniture, not designed by Adam, was upholstered in tapestry woven to match the Gobelins Neilson-Boucher tapestry for this room, but with a grey rather than a pink ground. The upholstery work was done by Samuel Norman of Soho Square. Although unexecuted for Moor Park, this particular design was executed in 1765 for the Earl of Coventry at Croome Court.
