Finished drawing for a tripod pedestal for the tapestry room, 1776, as executed (1)

The tapestry room tripod pedestal was executed as a pair in gilt wood with painted medallions, in accordance with Adam's drawing. They survive in situ.

According to Harris, these tripod pedestals were the last element of the room designed by Adam. They are similar to those which Adam designed in 1773 for Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn at 20 St James's Square (SM Adam volume 17/60), and in 1778 for Lady Home at 20 Portman Square (SM Adam volume 17/63).
