In 1799 Soane made a survey of 12 Mansfield Street for Charles Mills. Mills was a Director of the East India Company in 1785-1814.

The two survey drawings are similar, drawing [2] is to a larger scale than drawing [1] and dimensions are given more fully. The house has since been demolished.
