Finished drawings for Edwin Lascelles's bed room (now the east bedroom), 1766 (2)

Edwin Lascelles's bed chamber was in the north-east corner of the house, adjacent to his dressing room and a passage leading to his study. The passage and dressing room were demolished by Sir Herbert Baker in 1930 in order to create a neo-Adam-style dressing room for the Princess Royal, who married the 4th Earl. The corner room remains a bedroom. We do not know if the original Adam room was executed in accordance with either of these drawings.

The inscriptions on these two drawings seem to contradict one another, and the reversed east and west walls is confusing, but the plan of the principal floor of Harewood shows that this was a bedroom (Adam volume 35/8), and Lascelles's dressing room next door took quite a different form (Adam volume 35/20).
