The front door to the house is located at the centre of the east side of the west range, giving access to Adam's entrance hall, and reached by passing through the double portico, and through the courtyard.

There is an Adam office drawing for this door within the National Trust drawings collection at Osterley which corresponds more closely with the executed door, but neither drawing shows the exact executed proportions.
