Alterations to the house, 1790-1794, 1800 (28)

The first sub-scheme, 'Alterations to the house', has 28 drawings from 1790 to 1793 and 1800. Drawings 1 to 5 are surveys, datable to June and July 1790. 6 and 7 are preliminary designs for the drawing room, January and April 1791. 8 and 9 are designs for the east stairwell and adjoining ancillary rooms, dated April 1791. 10 to 12 are for the ante-library, consisting of a design, a presentation drawing and a working drawing, dating April and November 1791. 13 is a design for the first floor, August 1791. 14 to 16 are designs for the plaster finishings to the drawing room, dated July and August 1791. 17 to 19 are presentation drawings of the drawing room, dated December 1791. 20 is a working drawing for the drawing room's chimney-piece, dated February 1791. 21 and 22 are Royal Academy exhibition drawings, exhibited in 1792. 23 is a drawing for the room's silk hangings, May 1792. 24 is a working drawing for an unidentified chimney-piece at Wimpole, June 1792. 25 to 27 are surveys and a design for the office wing, dated December 1792 and January 1793. 28 is a design for alterations to the first floor, dated 1800.
