Record drawing for a ceiling for Lady Scarsdale's dressing room, 1760 (1)

Lady Scarsdale's dressing room was located in the north-east family pavilion. This ceiling design is the earliest colour washed ceiling design in the Adam drawings collection at the Soane Museum. According to Bristow, the geometry of this design is based on the ceiling in the Palace of Titus in Rome, a drawing of which was in Adam's possession.
