This plan may have been made from a survey plan (see drawing 39 to the same scale but dated 1808) Soane adding some suggestions in feint pencil. For example, a bow window to the ante-room on the south side (reviving an earlier idea - see drawings 15, 16) and an addition on the north side reached from Mr Thornton's old room, now labelled 'Hall' and extending from the servants' hall.
