Blogg was aged 24 when he made these drawings and was an 'improver' rather than a pupil since he had, presumably served his articles in another office. He lasted only four months in Soane's employment and by 1793 was 'at Mr Wyatt's' (A. Graves, The Royal Academy of Arts: a complete dictionary of contributors and their work ..., 1905).
