The drawings are in a measuring book kept by Thomas Ward of carpenters', masons', slaters' and bricklayers' work done by J & J Carline. The measuring book is labelled Dimensions of / Pelwall House / Aug^st 12 1823 / Thomas Ward / John Carline &c. Drawing 1a is located under a section entitled Carpenters Work / Labour & Nails and concerns the roof of the house. A 'curb' for the skylight is shown in section. The drawing also shows the principal rafter and hip rafter for the roof. The rafters are 'framed', shown with (?) temporary supports for construction.

Drawing 1b is located in the same measuring book, under the heading 'Measure of the shell of the offices at Pelwall House for Purney Sillitoe Esqr by J. Carline, Novr 10 1823'.
