Working drawing for a table possibly for the bedchamber, c1779, possibly executed (1)

There are two known tables which comparable in design for this working drawing for Apsley House. The first is held in the collections of the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne (D.62.a-b-1970), and the second was last known to be in the collections of furniture dealer Nicholas Grindley, London.
Harris suggests that the tables may have been intended for the bedchamber, with a similar use of ornamentation evident in a drawing for an oval a pier glass designed for this room (Adam volume 20/173).
