Preliminary design and two finished drawings for a chimneypiece for the large parlour, executed with alterations, 1761 (3)

The executed chimneypiece has a different tablet, a frieze of anthemia, and no overmantel. The design is similar to that for Lady Coventry's dressing room at Coventry House, 29 (now 106) Piccadilly. Stillman notes that this type of chimneypiece had previously been used by the Adams in Scotland at Dumfries House. Robert only used a chimneypiece design with double volutes four times, all before 1765, although the single volute stile was to become common after that date.
