The Soane Office Day Book for Monday 5 May 1834, records George Bailey leaving the Church Commissioners Office on George Street with 'a portfolio containing Sundry Drawings and Design for Churches made in 1818.' These included 30 original sketches, plans and elevations, 9 plans and sections of different churches 'taken at the time'. Where these thirty drawings are is not known. Carr identified five drawings in the Soane collection (SM 47/4/1-5), dated to 1818 which may belong to this group. They are largely designs based on St James's Piccadilly, and to a lesser extent, St. Bride's, both by Sir Christopher Wren.

Below Bailey also recorded one set of designs for Holy Trinity, Marylebone, consisting of 8 drawings, general specifications and estimates; and one set for Holy Trinity Marylebone consisting of: 20 drawings, 5 supplementary &c. Detailed specifications. It is unclear whether the drawing in this group was part of this wider portfolio return. A stumbling block is that only one date (3 May 1834) is recorded on the sheet, although 'Copy' may also indicate this was a copy of an earlier drawing given to the commissioners, but this begs the question of the location of the original.
