Copy Notes Purchased from John Cumming together with Thucydides (q.v.), Polybius (q.v.), De Moivre (q.v.), and Hooke's Roman history (q.v.) for £9 9s. on 16 September 1801. (Journal 4, p. 369). Volume I front free-endpaper inscribed in pencil 4 Vol-- 4. 4-. Extensive pencil listing of page references on rear pastedown of vol. I, confined primarily to pp. 261--399, with occasional pencil markings and underlinings in the related texts; similarly a briefer list in vol. III; transcribed by Soane (Soane Case 142), probably in or after November 1812. See Watkin, Soane, p. 698.
Binding Late C18th/early C19th sprinkled calf, gilt roll-tooled borders, gilt-ruled spines, black and red morocco spine-labels.
