Anonymous. By John Evelyn, named as the author in the second edition of 1755. The added engraved title-plate designed by Evelyn, with title 'History of Chalcography by J.E.', signed: J.E inve: AH. scu (i.e. designed by John Evelyn and engraved by A. Hertochs); the title-page with an engraved vignette of his cypher and arms. The folded plate is a mezzotint. Wing E3513; ESTC r351.

Copy Notes Several passages underlined in pencil.

Binding C18th calf, blind double-rule borders with corner ornaments, blind-tooled spine. Later C19th gilt-lettering on spine.
