This work was originally prepared for Gwilt's own use on his tour through Italy in 1816. BAL Early printed works, no. 1405.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink at the head of the title-page To John Soane Esqre. R A. Professor of Architecture/ To the Royal Academy - &c &tc/ With the Author's sincerest Respects. Gwilt had completed his architectural studies at the Royal Academy in 1801, five years before Soane became professor of architecture.

Binding Original C19th blue paper boards, red printed paper spine label reading 'Gwilt's Notitia Architectonica Italiana. 10s.'.
