London: printed by V. Griffiths; and published for the author, by Carpenter and Co., 1800.
[4], ii, xiv, 71, [1] p., 23 aquat. pl. (1 fold.) : [8] wdcut illus. ; 29.2 cm. (4o)

This is the "First Part" (p. 71) of an intended larger treatise of which no more was published before Malton's death in 1803. There are two variant states of the title-page: one as above with the imprint of V. Griffiths, and the other (ESTC n48425) with that of the printer J. Barfield, probably representing a later issue with a cancel title-leaf. However, the final page names S. Gosnell as the printer. Some copies were issued with an extra 'Advertisement' leaf apologizing for the delayed appearance of the work. BAL, Early printed books, no. 2019; ESTC t90226.
