First appeared in 1814 as The New Monthly Magazine and Universal Register, under the editorship of Henry Colburn. Continued by The New Monthly Magazine and Literary Journal, 1821--1836.

Copy Notes Copy 1: Volume III, no. 16. Bound in a volume of magazine parts. With separately printed prospectuses for 'The Augustan Review' (q.v.) and 'English & Polyglott Bibles' (q.v.) bound in at the end.
Copy 2: Volume V, no. 28. Uncut and partly unopened. Loosely inserted between pp. 358 & 359, to mark 'Lines Occasioned by the Death of Mrs. Soane', is a small piece of paper, folded once, with a note in manuscript of the names and addresses of the Vestry Clerk, Churchwarden and Parish Clerk of St Giles-in-the-Fields, and inscribed in ink (in Soane's hand) double Vault[?] / 9 x 7 plan[?] one / to one / 9.9 My extra fee[?] / 7.9. Bound in a volume of magazine parts retaining the original printed grey paper wrappers with title and imprint reading: London: printed for the proprietors: published by Henry Colburn. Sold by Messrs. G. and S. Robinson; Bell and Bradfute, Edinburgh; J. Cumming, Dublin; Messrs. Perthes and Besser, Hamburgh, and by all postmasters, booksellers, and newsmen in the United Kingdom. There are several separately printed advertisements bound in at the front: a leaf promoting works published by R. Ackermann (q.v.), a bifolium marking the removal of C. Blunt, optician and mathematical instrument maker, to new premises in Covent Garden (q.v.), and an advertisement for a 'New Edition Of The State Trials' compiled by T.B. Howell (q.v.).
Copy 3: Volume XII, no. 16 only. Includes an article on 'Gothic Architecture' on pp. 22--24, and a 'Review Of The Exhibition At The Royal Academy (Continued from our last)' on pp. 94--98 signed 'W.C.' Bound in a volume of magazine parts.

Binding Copy 1: C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-rule spine, black spine-label lettered 'Anti-Jacobin Review &c. &c. &c.', numbered '36' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
Copy 2: Bound in a numbered series of late 19th century half calf pamphlet volumes. (Archive, Trustees' Minutes 18 June 1866). With binder's stamp 'Bound By Mansell' on front pastedown.
Copy 3: C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-rule spine, black spine-label lettered 'Anti-Jacobin Review &c. &c. &c.', numbered '36' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
