Parallel titles and text in Italian and Latin. Frontispiece title reads 'Antichità Di Pozzuoli Puteolanae Antiquitates'. The date of publication appears in a vignette at the foot of the final plate of the engraved index: 'Anno A.C.N. MDCCLXVIII. Ferdinandi IV. Ann. IX. prestat nummis aureis Florentinis sex. Si Vende Ducati Quindici Napolitani'. The work consists of a total of 107 engraved plates arranged in two sequences, the first numbered 1--36 containing engraved explanatory text, followed by two unnumbered leaves of indexes, and the second containing the illustrative matter. The engraved title-plate, frontispiece and a dedication to Ferdinand IV, King of Sicily, signed by 'Paulus Antonius Paoli', are included in the total of plates. A later state of the vignette at the foot of the final index plate, represented by Soane copy 2, has the price statements obliterated, and a quotation from Virgil added on the left-hand side. Copy Notes Copy 1: Bought from Thomas Boone for 18s., 5 July 1815. (Spiers Box). With Boone's pencil inscriptions on front free-endpaper xLx £1.16.0 / 68 Large plates =18s=/2.
Copy 2: 49.3 cm. This copy has the later state of the vignette at the base of the final index plate with the quotation from Virgil.

Binding Copy 1: C18th Italian sponged sheep, gilt-tooled spine with thistle ornament, tan spine-label, block-printed decorated-paper pastedowns. Copy 2: Late C18th or early C19th quarter calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt-tooled spine with sunburst ornament, red morocco spine-label.
