Title and imprint details from the upper printed wrapper, which also gives a table of contents. Pages 22--24 contain 'Architectural Letters. No. 1. Dedicated, by permission, to John Soane, Esq., ...' signed 'George Wightwick. 9, George's Place.' The lower wrapper carries an editorial apology for having printed 'our extracts' in the same size type as the original contributions in consequence of the Plymouth printer, T.J. Bond, having failed to obtain 'a fount of small type from London'.

Copy Notes With the original buff-paper printed wrappers bound in. Unopened apart from pages 22--24. The upper printed wrapper inscribed faintly in pencil To / John Soane Esq.

Binding Bound in a numbered series of late 19th century half calf pamphlet volumes. (Archive, Trustees' Minutes 18 June 1866). With binder's stamp 'Bound By Mansell' on front pastedown.
