A reissue of the edition first published in 1770, with a cancel title-leaf, a new title-leaf and the correction of the errata. See BAL, Early printed books, no. 2627 (1770 ed.). Plates 2, 3 and 22 have overslips; pl. 24 and 25 are pl. III and VII respectively of the author's History and present state of electricity, 1767 (q.v.), used here to as examples of perspective drawings. With a dedication to Sir Joshua Reynolds, and 4 final pp. of 'A Catalogue of Books written by Joseph Priestley, ... And Printed For J. Johnson, Bookseller, ...'. ESTC t35304.
