First published as Romanarum antiquitatum libri decem in Basle, 1583, Rosinus' text was regularly reprinted for more than a century. It was edited by Thomas Dempster (1579?--1625) for a 1620 edition, supplemented with works by Paolo Manuzio (1512--1574) and Andreas Schottus (1552--1629), and later given an index compiled by Kornelis Schrevel (1608--1664). Copy Notes Bought from Thomas Boone for 4s. on 3 October 1808. (Spiers Box). With Boone's price in pencil on second front free-endpaper, and older booksellers' codes in ink on both pastedowns. Early ownership signature in ink on first front free-endpaper Ja: Martine.

Binding C17th calf, gilt spine with floral centre lozenge and French corner tools, black leather spine-label, green, red and yellow sponged text-block edges.
