The plates are numbered 1, 26--78 (Vol. I) & 79--158 (Vol. II); plates 2 to 25, intended to contain the first 48 prints over the Oxford Almanacks, were not engraved, and the first plate, the map, is numbered only in the list of plates. The work was published in 22 parts at 15s. each from 1 November 1816 to 1 January 1823. Several plates were drawn by Turner; there are others signed by J.C. Buckler, J.B. Malchair, John Cauldrey, F. Mackenzie and J. Donowell. BAL, Early printed books, no. 3048.

Copy Notes This proof copy on Imperial paper was purchased from Priestley and Weale for 16 guineas on 24 May 1826. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.6.27).

Binding C19th diced calf, gilt roll-tool borders, gilt-ruled spines, black spine-labels, gilt-lettered. Bound by E. Hutchinson for £1 12s. on 6 June 1829. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.6.29).
