An edition in Italian of the French edition of Giuseppe Vasi's Itinéraire instructif de Rome en faveur des étrangers as edited by his son Mariano Vasi in 1786 (q.v.) and reprinted from this Italian edition with subsequent revisions in Italian and in French. See BAL Early printed books, no. 3400. The final 4 pages are a catalogue of the engraved work of Vasi. A. Wilton and I. Bignamini (eds.), Grand tour: the lure of Italy in the eighteenth century, exh. cat. Tate Gallery (London 1996), cat. no. 69.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink at the head of title-page Guy Head (a portrait painter who settled in Rome in 1794 and died in 1800 shortly after returning to London) and at the foot of the same page John Soane 1813.

Binding C18th decorated paper boards, printed spine-labels, green silk bookmark. Two volumes bound in one.
