As stated on the half-title which reads The works of Voltaire. Vol. XVII. Being vol. XIII of his prose works, this is volume XVII only of a collected edition of the works of Voltaire in 35(?) volumes, probably to be identified with ESTC t227121 and matching the copy recorded as such on the ECCO database (Eighteenth Century Collections Online, accessed 1 February 2012). The present volume, with an unsigned frontispiece portrait of Dr. Swift, contains miscellanies in history, literature, and philosophy commencing with essays 'Of Ceremonies' and 'Folly on both Sides' and concluding with three pieces 'On printed Lies'. ESTC t227121.
