The preface is signed and dated 'Killkenny, September, 1771'. The Choice of Hercules, a work by Handel with a text from the Greek of Prodicus and attributed to Robert Lowth, published a few years earlier by T. Davis of Russel-Street, Covent-Garden, is printed on alternate pages opposite Isaacson's parody. The illustrations promised in the title are presumably metaphorical. ESTC t165302.

Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting half-title. Bound last in a volume of five works in verse.

Binding C18th half sheep, marbled-papr boards, gilt-ruled spine, gilt-lettered 'Poems'.
